At Miss Meg’s Swim Lessons, we strive to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive swim environment. Please review our policies and procedures to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for all swimmers and families.
Enrollment & Lesson Expiration
- Swimmers can enroll in either a single swim lesson or a monthly membership.
- Membership lessons expire at the end of each month and do not roll over. Please be sure to use all available lessons within the month.
- If the last lesson of the month in your swimmer’s level is canceled by Miss Meg’s, we will credit you an additional lesson for the next month as a "Single Swim Lesson."
Missed Lesson & Refund Policy
- We do not offer refunds for unused lessons.
- Membership lessons expire monthly, and we encourage families to attend all sessions to maximize their swim experience.
- If a swimmer is missing a lesson due to illness, please log into your Captyn account and remove their check-in from that day’s class.
- If your swimmer is missing their last available lesson of the month due to illness, contact our staff—we will credit an additional lesson for the next month if available.
Sick Swimmer Policy
- If your swimmer is ill, please keep them home from lessons. Miss Meg’s staff reserves the right to refuse a lesson if a swimmer appears sick.
- If a contagious illness (stomach virus, flu, pink eye, COVID-19, etc.) is in your home, please do not bring your swimmer to lessons to prevent exposure to others.
Inclement Weather & Facility Closures
- Lessons may be canceled due to severe weather (snow, thunder, extreme heat/cold) or unsafe pool conditions (bodily fluids, extreme water temperature drops, or facility damage).
- If Miss Meg’s deems conditions unsafe, families will be notified via email and text through Captyn.
- Canceled classes will be updated in Captyn, but we do not issue refunds for weather or facility-related closures.
Minimum Check-Ins to Hold a Lesson
- Group lessons require a minimum of 3 swimmers checked in for a class to run.
- If a class does not meet the minimum, Miss Meg’s reserves the right to cancel that time slot.
- Swimmers will have their check-in credited back for future use. Cancellations will be communicated via Captyn text notifications (Captyn texts are no-reply).
Medical & Behavioral Disclosures
- Any medical or behavioral conditions affecting your swimmer must be disclosed during enrollment.
- We will do our best to accommodate all swimmers, but we reserve the right to refuse lessons if we cannot safely provide instruction.
Hygiene & Pool Use
- All swimmers must rinse off before entering the pool.
- If your swimmer has lotion, hair gel, or styling products, please shower them at home before their lesson.
- Swimmers with open wounds or excessive runny noses/eyes will not be permitted in the pool.
- Showers should be reserved for incoming classes; post-lesson showers should be taken at home.
Swim Attire
- All swimmers must wear pool-safe swim attire such as traditional bathing suits, wetsuits, full-body swimwear, or rash guards.
- Swimmers with long hair must tie it back or wear a swim cap to prevent hair from obstructing their vision and progress in the water.
- Traditional swimsuits are not required—Miss Meg’s supports all swimwear preferences while ensuring safety in the water.
Inclusivity & Discrimination Policy
- Miss Meg’s Swim Lessons is a welcoming and inclusive swim school. We do not discriminate based on race, gender, ethnicity, religion, or any other factor.
- We foster an environment of kindness, acceptance, and support in our swim community.
Thank you for being part of Miss Meg’s Swim Lessons! We appreciate your cooperation in helping us provide a safe, fun, and effective swim program for all. 💦🏊♂️✨
