Policies & Agreements

At Miss Meg’s Swim Lessons, we strive to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive swim environment. Please review the following policies to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for all swimmers and families.

Swimmers may enroll in either a single swim lesson or purchase a flexible punch card for group lessons.

• Punch cards are valid through the expiration date listed at the time of purchase.
• Unused check-ins do not roll over or qualify for refunds.
• If Miss Meg’s cancels a scheduled class and no alternative is offered, your check-in will be credited back for future use.
   

We do not offer refunds for any reason, including illness, missed classes, inclement weather, or facility closures.

The only exception to this policy is in the case of a permanent facility relocation that places the new location more than 10 miles away from the original location listed at the time of registration (measured from location to location—not from your home address). In this case, we will offer refunds for any remaining unused lessons starting 30 calendar days after the end of the Punch Card's expiration.

• If your swimmer is unable to attend a class, please remove their check-in in Captyn prior to the scheduled start time.
• If your swimmer misses their final scheduled lesson due to illness, please contact us—we’ll do our best to provide a credit if availability allows.
   

To protect the health of all participants:

• Please keep your swimmer home if they are ill.
• Miss Meg’s staff reserves the right to refuse a lesson if a swimmer shows signs of illness.
• If someone in your household has a contagious illness (stomach virus, flu, pink eye, COVID-19, etc.), please stay home to avoid community spread.
   

Lessons may be canceled due to:

• Severe weather (e.g. snowstorms, lightning)
• Facility issues (e.g. unsafe pool conditions, temperature drops, or hotel-related maintenance)
   

If a class is canceled, families will be notified via Captyn email and text. Check-ins will be credited for any canceled class. (Captyn texts are no-reply.)

Group lessons require a minimum of 3 swimmers checked in for the class to run.

This has always been our policy, but now that we operate within a rented hotel facility, we must strictly enforce this policy in order to cover rental costs.

If fewer than 3 swimmers are checked in:

• 2 swimmers: the class may run as a semi-private lesson, and each swimmer will be debited 2 check-ins
  (Valued at $75 per swimmer)
• 1 swimmer: the class may run as a private lesson, and the swimmer will be debited 3 check-ins
  (Valued at $99)
• Swimmers may also choose to opt out and have their check-in credited back instead.
   

Families will be notified via Captyn text if a class is not running as a group lesson.

This structure helps us offer flexible class options while ensuring we can cover the cost of renting the pool.

• Group lessons average $30 per swimmer per class
• Semi-private lessons: $75 per swimmer
• Private lessons: $99 per class
   

Reduced class sizes offer swimmers more personalized instruction—at a significantly lower rate than booking a private or semi-private lesson outright.

Please disclose any medical or behavioral conditions that could impact your swimmer’s participation during enrollment.

We strive to accommodate all swimmers but reserve the right to decline instruction if we are unable to do so safely.

Lessons are held at the Quality Inn & Suites indoor pool in Danbury, CT. This is a shared hotel facility—please help us remain respectful guests:

• Enter through the main front entrance, check in at the hotel desk, and proceed to the pool hallway.
• Rinse off before entering the pool.
• Avoid using post-lesson showers; these should be reserved for swimmers entering the next class.
• Swimmers with open wounds or excessive nasal/eye discharge will not be permitted to swim.
   

All swimmers must wear secure, pool-safe swimwear including bathing suits, wetsuits, rash guards, or modesty swimwear.

• Long hair must be tied back or secured with a swim cap.
• We welcome all swimwear preferences as long as safety and visibility are maintained.
   

Miss Meg’s Swim Lessons is a welcoming and inclusive swim school.
